I have owned and operated Little Tot’s for 26 years! I have over 28 years experience teaching and caring for young children. I am a wife and mother of four beautiful children. All four of my own children were raised alongside their friends at Little Tot’s. With family, work and school, I am honestly too busy for hobbies, but most enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. When time allows I love reading, decorating, designing, camping and trying my hand at amateur photography.
Education and recognition are very important to me. I began college as an adult. After plugging along trying to juggle all my life’s responsibilities, I graduated in 2002 with my Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education. I earned the honor of one of Macomb Community College ’s Most Distinguished Graduates in 2002 by having one of the highest GPA’s in the entire graduating class.
In 2004, Little Tot's received Accreditation through National Association for Family Child Care, we were honored for excellence in quality care. In 2004, I enrolled at Rochester College in their Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education degree program. I proudly graduated Summa Cum Laude with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 in December of 2006. At that time I was recognized for first in leadership by the national honor society Alpha Sigma Lambda.
In 2007, I was hired to in as an Instructor of Education in the Early Childhood Studies program at Macomb Community College. Also in 2007, Little Tot's went through the renewal steps for national accreditation. Little Tot's was reaccredited through NAFCC.
In 2011, I graduated from Oakland University in the Master of Education program with a 3.97 cumulative GPA! I was awarded a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education. The day after graduation I was asked to become the instructor of record for a new child development course at Macomb Community College.
In 2017, I was hired in as the Program Coordinator for the Education: Early Childhood program at Macomb Community College! My future goal is to obtain my Ph.D. In doing so, I plan to continue sharing the knowledge I have gained with other early childhood professionals in a college classroom, while still providing excellent care to the children enrolled here at Little Tot's.
The most enjoyable part of my career is the connections that I have with each family enrolled. I am grateful for the amazing children and parents that I have had the pleasure of knowing and caring for over the years, and for the awesome privilege I have had to see my own children raised within such a fantastic group of people.
